It was a weekend of Mercedes dominance in Las Vegas, with a 1-2 finish helping bring them their fourth win of 2024. But how will that help them in these power rankings?
Before we get to that, it’s disclaimer time. If you’ve read these before, you know the drill. These are all subjective and based mainly on my (incredibly smart) opinion mixed with form and on-track results, meaning it is a generally subjective list that holds no real weight except for the large basis of fact I like to think I can generate.
So with all that in mind, let’s get to the rankings.
10. Kick Sauber (-)
For a large portion of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Zhou Gyanyu found himself in a points position. The pointless season looked like it could be broken. Sadly, it wasn’t to be. Hopefully the last two rounds can bring the moment back and make it stick to the end of the race.

9. Aston Martin (-)
Once again Aston Martin end up completely nowhere and sit in obscurity when it comes to their place on the grid right now. A baffling run of form for the team to close out 2024.
8. Williams (-)
Retain their spot ahead of Aston Martin given there were some brief flashes of pace and the team looked like it could score points in Vegas. They didn’t, but still have the better form compared to their green rivals.
7. Alpine (-3)
Harsh to drop them down so much after their strong race in Brazil and strong qualifying by Pierre Gasly in Vegas, but ultimately they were the only team involved in the battle for sixth that didn’t score points on the weekend, meaning a drop was inevitable.
6. RB (-)
Points to Yuki Tsunoda after the Japanese driver put in a strong weekend. The team does sit behind both Alpine and Haas in the Championship still, but it’s so close that it wouldn’t be a surprise for them to vault both come Qatar this weekend.

5. Haas (+2)
You knew based on their 2024 form that one bad race was going to be followed up with a good one, especially when Nico Hulkenberg is at the wheel. Another great race by the German puts the team up to sixth in the Constructors’ Championship, and more importantly fifth in the power rankings.
4. Red Bull (-1)
Double points for the team, but once again the bulk of them came from Max Verstappen. Sergio Perez did wheel to secure a point in tenth, but he shouldn’t be having to fight from the back of the grid to get one point when the team is battling for the Constructors’ Championship. His days in the team are getting shorter and shorter.
3. McLaren (-2)
A bad weekend for the Woking team puts them precariously close to falling off the top of the Constructors’ Championship. A real shame for the team that for so long has looked like it was theirs for the taking.
2. Mercedes (+3)
The yo-yo team of 2024 strikes again with a dominant weekend and a dominant 1-2. Is it 2019 again? Well, no, because these results would be every weekend instead of every sixth weekend. Still, a win is a win, and it was a great weekend for Mercedes.
1. Ferrari (+1)
Perhaps somewhat odd to put them in first given they never looked likely to win in Las Vegas, but based on consistency and form they are the team to beat right now. I speak for every Ferrari fan out there right now when I say let’s hope it continues for the last two races.
What do you think of this list? Which order would you currently rank the teams in? Let me know your thoughts below!
