Round 11 F1 team power rankings: Alpine’s ascent continues

The F1 team power rankings continue to be an interesting talking point as the top teams move ahead while the middle pack gets closer.

Before we get to them, the usual disclaimer. You know the drill, these are all subjective and based mainly on my (incredibly smart) opinion mixed with form and on-track results, meaning it is a generally subjective list that holds no real weight except for the large basis of fact I like to think I can generate.

So with that in mind, let’s get to the rankings.

10. Kick Sauber (-)

I do think they’re at the track still each round right? I see some green and black occasionally, but then I think I’m imagining it. Perhaps soon there will be proof, and more importantly, points.

9. Williams (-)

Nowhere once again. That increase in form from a few races ago seems a long time ago now.

8. Aston Martin (-3)

Ouch. Aston Martin. What was that? There’s no hiding from their significant drop in form suddenly. Fernando Alonso might be questioning that deal all of a sudden.

7. RB (+1)

A great drive from Daniel Ricciardo saw more points for the team on Sunday. It’s just a shame their main rivals around them had even better races.

6. Haas (+1)

Double points and their best finish in a race for two years. A great result for the team.

5. Alpine (+1)

Amazing to see their form continue to improve and make the top five for the first time this season. Hard to believe this was possible given where they were earlier in the year.

4. Ferrari (-)

What has happened since Monaco? Did they use all their luck to help Charles win his home race and now they’ve just gone back to nowhere? On behalf of all Ferrari fans, please make this not true.

3. Mercedes (-)

Feels harsh not to bump them up given they won their first race in two years but the circumstances of the win do have to be taken into account. Still, it’s great to see them back on the top step of the podium.

2. Red Bull (-1)

I have to drop them back given that there is only one driver right now doing anything for them, and the top team has two drivers doing things for them. Should’ve been another easy win for Verstappen, but hey, it can’t always go perfectly for him.

1. McLaren (+1)

Welcome to the top of the rankings McLaren! Hard to believe this was possible about 12 months ago, but it’s happened and you’re here! Can they stay on top for more than one round? I think so. We’ll confirm that in just over a week.

What do you think of this list? Which order would you currently rank the teams in? Let me know your thoughts below!
