We love an entertaining race, particularly when it comes to the F1 driver power rankings.
Before those, it’s always important to bring you the usual disclaimer first. You know the drill, these are all subjective and based mainly on my (incredibly smart) opinion mixed with form and on-track results, meaning it is a generally subjective list that holds no real weight except for the large basis of fact I like to think I can generate.
So with that over with, let’s move into the rankings!
10. Esteban Ocon (-1)
Not quite on the level of his teammate all weekend but still drove solid enough to warrant his place in the top ten.
9. Charles Leclerc (-4)
Remember Monaco? Remember how great he was? Remember the joy of seeing him win at home? I do. And now? Sadness. All the sadness. Please go back to Monaco levels Charles? Please?

8. Carlos Sainz (-2)
See above but change out Monaco for Australia.
7. Nico Hulkenberg (+3)
Sixth place. Incredible. Okay it should’ve been seventh. But still. He raced incredibly well in both the sprint and main race and ended the race overtaking a Red Bull. Amazing.
6. Pierre Gasly (+2)
Signs a new contract for Alpine and continues to do the goods for them. Continues to also leave races much happier than he was doing at the beginning of the year. Easily one of the form drivers right now.
5. Oscar Piastri (+2)
Should’ve been there to pick up the pieces and win his first race after the lap 63 incident, but alas bad luck fell his way again. It will come Oscar, it will come.

4. Lewis Hamilton (-)
A somewhat quiet weekend for Lewis but still a solid haul of points for him and the team. He is always Mr Consistent, which is never a bad thing.
3. George Russell (-)
It seems somewhat weird to think this was only the second ever win for George. He feels like one of those drivers who has like ten wins in the sport. But no. His second win was lucky yes, but a win is a win and it’s great to see him claim number two.
2. Max Verstappen (-1)
It was his mistake and showed that side of him that we don’t see as much as we used to. But that’s what hard racers do and that’s entertaining to see. But it also cost him a win. So that is a factor in dropping him back this round.
1. Lando Norris (+1)
Just like his team, Lando tastes the top step of these rankings for the first time. The move that he made which resulted in the crash wasn’t going to stick, so a bit more patience was needed to find a way into the lead. But while he didn’t get the lead he wanted, he leaves Austria with the lead here in the rankings. So that’s something Lando – congrats!
What do you think of this list? Which order would you currently rank the drivers in? Let me know your thoughts below!
